Mas
Collades is a beautiful three story manor house built in 1742 of sand stone
with an interior patio and large wooden entrance doors typical of the 17th
century. 'Mas Collades' is located 70 km. north of Barcelona and is
surrounded by 70
hectares of pine forests offering panoramic views of
nature.
The house
was built by the family "Los Collades", who took care of the
house and its land for more than 150 years. Their descendants honoured the
Catalan heritage law with the central figure as "hereu"
(heir) followed by a priest, a doctor, a lawyer etc. They made their living
through wine production and wood cutting and as such they were the main
providers of the church wine called "Vi de dir Misa"
of the Bishopric of Vic. Every year in November, they would transport the
wine in large carriages to this town and consequently enrol yet another son
at its seminary.
In 1966, the
family Permanyer bought the property of Mas
Collades and restored the house and its surrounding to its original glory,
which is now considered one of the most beautiful rural manor houses of Catalonia. 'Mas Collades' is known for its warm hospitality, its
excellent food and its original and tasteful decor with gracious bedrooms
and spacious living, dining and meeting rooms.
"Mas Collades" has been nominated as a recommended establishement by "the national guide of Rural Houses
in Spain",

Aguilar" and by "Everest Quality Tourism".
